was the first Principal, (President) of the school, now known as Tuskegee
University. He was the one who took the first steps in building this great
institution, which became world renown under his leadership.
Considered by many the "Founder", he was in fact, the great "Builder" of
Tuskegee University. Lewis Adams, however, was the cause operating
before the school came into being. He was the one whose action gave
rise to the school that Booker T. Washington first led and built; hence
Lewis Adams can be justly called the true "Founder" of Tuskegee
University. This play tells his story.
