A dramatic testimony of pride in the Black man’s universal struggle for freedom and equality. . .The play depicts a violent slave rebellion led by a young man of color named Toby, in 1825 America, in the young State of Alabama, and the effect of that rebellion across the Atlantic in 1826 Vienna, Austria, and Paris, France, on three great artists of color: Ludwig van Beethoven, Aleksander Sergeevich Puskin, and Alexandre Dumas pere.

swinging and swaying to the music of Duke Ellington,
Cab Calloway, Fats Waller, and others of that period,
whose music remains forever new.

(The Tuskegee Airmen Meet
Josephine Baker)”

Mayor Johnny Ford plays, the then, Lt. Colonel Benjamin
O. Davis, who takes the audience back in time to May 5th, 1943, when the Tuskegee Airmen were entertained by the great African American star of the Folies Bergere in Paris, France, Miss Josephine Baker (played by Dyann Robinson). This real life event occurred shortly after the 99th Fighter Squadron arrived at their base, near Fez, French Morocco, North Africa, to prepare for their first mission in
World War II.
